After a leisurely breakfast, you will meet with the Madagascar guide company for a sightseeing tour in the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo or Tana, which was built in 3 stages. It is like seeing three different cities. The first buildings appeared in the upper city during the reign of the royal dynasty, and there is still a Royal Palace. The central city is the administrative part of the capital and the lower city is a commercial part. Main Street has dominantly colonial buildings in the Victorian style. After the excursion you continue the journey to the South, where you will discover a totally unexpected landscape of fantastic mountain formations called "lavaka". In the afternoon you will arrive at Antsirabe (literally "salt"). Located 169 km from the capital, this elegant town is known as the capital of beer. It was founded in the year 1856 by Norwegians and it is the only town in Madagascar that looks like a European city. Antsirabe is also known for processing precious and semiprecious stones. Accommodation at Couleur Café
Leaving Antsirabe after breakfast, you can advance further South to Ambositra. This area is covered with pine and eucalyptus forests and more reminiscent of the Middle East. These places are known for their woodcarving masters and their unique architecture, with carved balconies and trim houses. In this city you will be interested in visiting the woodwork factory. Continuing the journey toward Ranomafana, the landscape changes dramatically, now dominated by rainforest. Ranomafana National Park is located on a fairly deep river Namorona and before entering the city you will stop at the beautiful waterfall "chute de Namorona”. Overnight at the SETAM LODGE HB.
Early rise for excursion to the National Park of Ranomafana, named after the village that became famous because of its hot healing spring. This park occupies 40000 hectares and is covered with tropical forests. In the year 1991 it was taken under state protection because here you find the very rare Golden Bamboo Lemur. This park is the richest in Madagascar in mammals and birds. Return to hotel after the tour.

After breakfast, you meet with your guide and ride in a comfortable car. Short city tour Fianarantsoa, which, like the capital, was built in three stages. The lower part includes the railway and the commercial centre, the centre is the administrative part and the upper part is the old town, where you can see the cathedral, and from where you have a panoramic view of the city. Here is also the university, which was founded in the 19th century. Fianarantsoa means "town where we learn”, and it is the intellectual center of the country. It was the first city in Madagascar, where you could obtain a European education and to this day it is the best university of the country. In Fianarantsoa there is a strong Catholic influence and in the heart of the city stands the statue of the Holy Madonna. Fianarantsoa is the second largest city after Tana and it is dominated by a population whose main occupation is the cultivation of rice. Then the excursion takes you on a journey to the center of the wine industry: Ambalavao, where you will stop for tasting of local wines. We cannot say that these places have a very favourable climate for winemaking, but this tradition has remained, started by priests and monks who lived in the region of Fianarantsoa. In the same area you will visit the rare factory of "Antemoro, paper manufacturing”, whose tradition was established by the Arabs living here in the 15th century. For dinner you will arrive at ISALO ROCK LODGE B&B.
As usual in the morning, meeting with your guide and the journey continues. This day will surprise you with unexpected scenery. Moving to the West will open your eyes: you are now in the southern, desert area. Arrive in the city of Tuléar for short sight seeing tour. Tuléar, translated from the local dialect means "Now you reach the place of destination”. This is the third major port and capital of the largest province of Madagascar.
